Antonio Colombo Contemporary Art and Atelier Biagetti, have the honour to present a collection of unique and extravagant pieces designed by Alberto Biagetti.
Treasure chests, wardrobes, furniture to protect your most precious belongings, every one unique, just like diamonds,
each one with its own myriad of reflections and shining brightness, made of juxtapositions between gold, hand-painted colorful sections, and rough patches left bare here and there that reveal the inner nature, hard and impassive, almost like a stone.
Diamonds is a collection of romantic objects. The design is far from Bauhaus or any influence of Minimalism, but was inspired by Caravaggio, or Biagio Rossetti* and their deep Italian roots, full of shadows and mysteries that lead us to a formal and yet sentimental beauty and depth.
The light, the chiaroscuro, the shadows, the drama and the architecture are the main characters of this story, a story where the furniture is not just an everyday object but an important presence with an emotional and sculptural value that creates a basis for a new domestic environment.
*Biagio Rossetti- Designed and built the very famous "Palazzo dei Diamanti" whose main feature consists of more than 8,500 white marble blocks hand-carved to represent diamonds.
